Fruit Pizza

Fruit Pizza for Any Occasion

When you consider pizza what do you see in your mind’s eye? Classic pizza often has a tomato sauce, some cheese and herbs, and maybe toppings like anchovies, pepperoni, mushrooms, or other items, but did you know there is a flip side to the world of pizza, and that is does not have to be a savory dish? That’s right – adding pineapple to your pizza to give it a Hawaiian twist is not the only type of ‘fruit pizza’ you can make. In fact, you can make dessert pizzas.

How to Make a Fruit Pizza

You can start off with any kind of pizza crust apart from anything too savory like a herb crust or a cheese-stuffed crust of course. If you want to make your own pizza crust from scratch, go ahead. You do not have to add sugar or honey because a neutral crust will be nice with fruit. Tortillas would also make a good crust. Add cream cheese, whipped cream or even chocolate syrup as your ‘sauce’ and then arrange your favorite fruit on top. This makes a lovely dessert and is colorful as well as unique.
