Homemade Pizza Sauce with Honey

Once you get started making homemade pizza, it will be awfully hard to go back to takeout or restaurant types. One of the most important parts of making sure you have a good pizza is having the right sauce. A bland sauce can make the whole pizza seem boring. This homemade pizza sauce with honey adds some interesting ingredients and has a lot of flavor.

Do not be tempted to leave out the anchovy paste unless you have a dietary requirement that means you have to. It does not taste fishy when used in the right quantities. Once you try this homemade pizza sauce with honey, you will insist on this recipe instead of any other on your pizza. Cut up your own toppings, or even make mini pizzas so there are no arguments over what kind to have.

Making it is simply a matter of mixing the ingredients together, letting it sit so the flavors can combine, then spreading it over your preferred pizza crust. Even if you are using a readymade crust, you can be sure this sauce will add a charming homemade taste to the pizza, and it is worth making your own sauce rather than settling for the second-rate commercial kind.

You will need a variety of ingredients to prepare this sauce but a lot of them are simply a pinch of this and a pinch of that, so anybody will be able to put this together with ease. If you usually use another recipe to make your pizza sauce, try this one instead and you will really like the different flavor.

This is a lovely pizza sauce recipe to make because the flavor is so well-rounded. The honey adds a touch of sweetness which really brings out the taste of the tomatoes. A lot of commercial pizza sauces contain sugar (quite a lot of it in some cases) but honey is a nice alternative and you do not need much. In the picture you can see this tomato-sauce covered pizza has been topped with cheese and mushrooms, and you have to admit it looks really delicious! This tasty herb and tomato sauce complements any pizza crust type and also complements any kind of toppings you want to use.
